One of the best parts of being a part of the Olympus family is the amazing parent (and grandparent) support. Parents that come to games, parents that work the table, parents that help sell oranges.... whatever level of engagement they can offer, our parents are fantastic. Throughout the Parent Portal, you will find a variety of ways to see how, and why, you can be an engaged water polo parent.
Building a program that supports a complete athlete is priority #1 for Olympus Aquatics Water Polo and that includes having positive support from our parents. Parental support includes positive communication with your athlete, keeping up with team communications, volunteer support when possible, and an understanding of our expectations for both athletes and parents.

Ah, GroupMe.... Olympus Water Polo veterans know we love our GroupMe groups. GroupMe is an app that allows us to create groups and communicate within those groups via text/app. At the beginning of each season, we will have "GroupMe day" where everyone will be added to appropriate groups: teams, ages, etc. *New this year... As requested, we will be creating a GroupMe group that will be for posting only... no response or chatter. However, we highly recommend you pay attention to the regular groups. Part of the Olympus culture is to have everyone involved in the discussions. Yes, sometimes you have to deal with playful banter, but that's part of the fun of being on our team. We all like each other!
Coach Shawn sends a weekly email with tons of information about games, upcoming clinics, fundraising, etc. It will all be on the website too but please, please, please don't ignore these emails. We don't want you to miss out on awesome things!
Texting will not be used with any frequency. We may be sending a "check the website" text for any notable updates but instead of texting... download the GroupMe app. It's way better.
Parents and athletes need to manage their SportsEngine accounts to ensure they get the most out of their Olympus Aquatics Water Polo experience during each sporting season. With their accounts properly configured, athletes and their families will receive communications according to their preferences and be able to complete registrations more efficiently. In many instances, more than one parent or guardian needs to be in the loop with a child's sports life. Using the mobile app, you can add additional guardians to an account. Guardians can 1) View games and events 2) RSVP to games and events 3) Send and receive messages to coaches and team members 4) participate in team chat
Once you've created your account, add your mobile phone so you can receive text messages from your team manager or coach.
Now that you have your mobile phone on your account, make sure you enable text messaging and any other notifications.
