POPULARITY:

There are 45,000 registered athletes in the United States.  Over 1,000 athletes in Utah ages 8-18 play water polo.  Currently there are 21 teams playing in Utah.

Currently the USA Women's National Team owns every major world championship.  

COST:

Swimsuit and a great attitude.  

EASY TO LEARN:

The basics - Score more goals than your opponent.  Don't touch the bottom or the ball with two hands (unless you are the goalie).  

GLOBAL REACH:

Water Polo is very popular gloabally.  It is the only modern team sport to be in every modern Olympics.  Women's water polo was introduced to the Olympics in 2000 at the Sydney Games.  

INJURIES:

Very little risk of injuries.  An errant elbow might hit a chin (we recommend mouth guards) but proper training and recovery can reduce most physical injuries.
